well, I am officially at the point that I want to pull my son from school completely. I am so angry i could scream. He was recently bogusly suspended from school for accidentally calling the teacher by his first name. He not only was suspended from school, but now i have found out kicked from the school play in which he had a lead role. He found out from other kids first, and the same teacher that had him suspended, humiliated him in front of the students by questioning him as to why he was absent on said suspension day, forcing him to say “uh, cause you suspended me” in front of everyone. I am beyond angry. My child has been tormented his entire middle school career, teased unmercifully, given crap constantly the entire time. he has no history of disrespect to teachers, yet ended up suspended from school and now kicked out of the school play. The assistant principal who suspended him, claimed that he was uncooperative and lying which is why the punishment was so severe, because “other kids” said things against him, and that she tried to reach me but the phone numbers didn’t work. Neither phone rang. She is also using him not knowing my new numbers as evidence of him lying and being evasive and uncooperative. I have an appointment Wed. morning to meet with the principals. I am going to raise hell, though it will most likely be pointless. I also “conviently” got the appeal information after the deadline for appealing. you must file the appeal within 5 days of the suspension, and I got it a week later. This teacher is a new teacher this year who cannot control his class and handles himself very badly. At minimum I want him written up for his conduct with my child. If my son who is 13, is going to be forbidden from making mistakes and saying something stupid, then an adult teacher should be held to the same standard. but we will see. Just reason 8,765,437,101 that I want to move away from here.
